Mike's Tips on Mystery Shopping
Shop Until You Drop is one of the most established mystery shopper databases out there. This site gave me my first shopping jobs way back in 2003. I love how I am able to choose exactly which places I am able to shop and review. It has an excellent selection of well established companies such as Olive Garden and The Gap. The best part about starting out at this site was the fact that they answered all of my Secret shopper questions.
The staff here is great (I am now on a first name basis with some of them) and they will answer every question you can throw at them. I am also able to look at their "daily postings" of jobs that I can choose from. …

Get Paid 2 is definitely the easiest to use of all the sites. Their data base includes many big chain companies such as Chili’s, Macaroni Grill, and On The Border. Also includes big jobs such as cruises, golfing, and trips that I had to pay less than $200 out-of-pocket for. Their job list is expansive and is sure to keep you busy.
The Site also includes some excellent bonuses such as read-Email surveys and online surveys. I personally prefer to be out in the "field" shopping. I still have quite a few friends who work for this site and make a good living with the programs

Don't Get Off to a Bad Start in Mystery Shopping
Hello, my name is Michael and I live in San Diego, California and I have made my career as a Mystery Shopper. I used to work in real estate until I knew there was a better way to earn a living on my own time, while making my own hours. Well, what happened next was history. I signed up for some programs that gave me a wide variety of jobs as a mystery shopper and started out shopping for a living.
I actually read an article in the Wall Street Journal that talked about how a New York woman started her career as a mystery shopper. Basically, what she did was go around to businesses and review their customer service and quality, all while getting paid (I saved the article here). The article talked about her drinking frosty Coronas on a golf course and then flying to Hawaii to golf more and get paid for it….this was in the Wall Street Journal of all places!
The job of a mystery shopper is to act as a normal customer when going to stores, restaurants, golf courses, etc. In turn, the secret shopper then writes up a short review about how she was treated and served at these establishments. The company then reimburses us for our services, all while we enjoy the food, products and facilities for free.
I personally signed up for over 60 Secret Shopper and Mystery Shopper Websites back in 1998 and found a great deal of them to be a complete waste of my time. As a resource, I have provided you with a list of what I believe to be the best programs out there. There is something for everyone at the below listed (and rated) Mystery shopper websites….I’m here to make sure you don’t join the bad ones (like I did). Don’t get burned like I did when I first started off.
